Session

The session element of the day will include tunes from the Live Teaching repertoire. Here is a list of tunes that we will definitely play, to help you get started:

  • The Lad with the Trousers On
  • Calum’s Waltz
  • Harlequin Air/Bonny Kate
  • Sailor’s Wife/Spirit of the Dance
  • Repeal the Poll Tax

The basic notation of the tunes is available in this document, and you may want the new tune from this block too:

If you have an old version of the Live Tunes document, please delete it and use this version as the page numbers at the end have changed. If you have a printed copy, you can just reprint pages 12 – 14 (11 – 14 if double sided). It includes the tunes taught in the Live Teaching Zoom calls, plus those session tunes taught when we ran Thursday evening workshops.

If you would like to access the full resources for any of the Live Tunes, and even the video recordings of the Live Zoom Calls in which they were taught, you can access the Live Teaching page for this block:

COVID-Secure Guidelines

We will run the workshop with care and consideration for all. We strongly recommend mask wearing in crowded indoor spaces, and ask that you take a lateral flow test before travelling, and do not attend if you get a positive result or feel unwell. Please continue to wash or sanitise your hands regularly and thoroughly, maintain a safe distance and bring an extra layer of clothing in case ventilation leaves the room slightly chilly.

By attending an in-person event organised by NEFS, you agree to follow any COVID-secure Workshop Guidelines in place, and any further reasonable requests made by the venue, the Tutors or Directors to keep the group safe and all attendees feeling as comfortable as possible.
