Travel
Car Parking – please park carefully and respectfully around the village and avoid blocking any access. Here is a map provided by the venue. The largest parking space is around by St James’ Church – you will need to allow about 5 mins to walk back to the Parish Hall.
Train
Riding Mill Train Station is just a few minutes walk from the Parish Hall (08:45 – 09:16 from Newcastle Central Station; or 09:40 – 09:48 from Hexham – you’d be with us for the start of the first workshop)
Advance Materials
The resources for we will be using in our Sunday Workshop will be available here about a week before the workshop. You will be able to have a listen to the tunes and print or save the notation. If you are able to print the pdf if you like to use a paper copy, that is very helpful – we will have a few spares with us if you aren’t able to print and don’t wish to use the electronic version.
Session
The session element of the day will include tunes from the current Live Teaching repertoire. We will also identify some Big Tunes nearer the time, which we will definitely play, so if you are new to our repertoire you might like to have a look at these.
Other tunes will be taken from our NEFS Core Repertoire (the NEFS Live Tunes document) and some tunes have been put into sets in our NEFS Live Tune Sets. The Bowed Version of the tunes just has added bowing suggestions. These are the latest versions:
- NEFS Live Tunes – March 2025
- NEFS Live Tunes – March 2025 – Bowed Version
- NEFS Live Tune Sets – Apr 2024
Some Live Tune Harmonies from last year – just for fun, if you want to try them!
If you would like to access the full resources for any of the Live Tunes, including audio files and even the video recordings of the Live Zoom Calls in which they were taught, you can access the Live Teaching Resources page.
