NEFS Summer Workshop Weekend 2024 – Saturday Workshop

Many thanks to everyone who signed up for our Summer Workshop Weekend. We hope you enjoyed yourselves and learned a lot along the way. If you took any photos of the weekend, it would be lovely to see them. You can email them to me on tuition@northeastfiddleschool.org.uk

We hope to see you again soon, either on Zoom or at another in-person workshop – save the dates!

  • Block 5 Saturday Workshop: Sat 12th October in Wylam
  • NEFS Winter Workout Weekend: Fri 29th Nov – Sun 1st Dec 2024 at Shepherds Dene, near Riding Mill

Advance Materials

These are the resources for the Saturday Workshop for you to have a listen to the tunes and print or save the notation. If you are able to print the pdf if you like to use a paper copy, that is very helpful – we will have a few spares with us if you aren’t able to print and don’t wish to use the electronic version.

Session

The session element of the day will include tunes from the current Live Teaching repertoire. We have identified some Big Tunes, which we will definitely play, so if you are new to our repertoire you might like to have a look at these.

  • Five Sheep, Four GoatsNotation
  • Josefin’s Dopvals (Roger Tallroth) – Notation
  • The Fallowfield March (Rob Say) – Notation
  • Andrew’s March (John Dagg) – Notation
  • Maison de Glace (Rejean Brunet) – Notation

Other tunes will be taken from our NEFS Core Repertoire (the NEFS Live Tunes document) and some tunes have been put into sets in our NEFS Live Tune Sets. The Bowed Version of the tunes just has added bowing suggestions. The Big Tunes are also included in these documents:

If you would like to access the full resources for any of the Live Tunes, including audio files and even the video recordings of the Live Zoom Calls in which they were taught, you can access the Live Teaching page for 2024 Block 4:
